Hello , here is a little about me:

I've been married twice - total of 5 children between us and ten grandchildren. my Wife, Pamela, is extremely supportive of my work for UKIP.Born in 1940. Mum always used to boast that my kindergarten report (when I was 4!) said that "Graham will one day be Prime Minister"). What a precocious little brat I must have been. At least I've got my foot on the bottom rung of the ladder at long last!

Educated at Torquay Boy's Grammar School. (8 O-levels in 1956 + plus 1 GCSE in 1992) Worked for Lloyds Bank from 1956 to 1960.
Ran the family holiday business from 1960 to 2002. "Semi-retired" since 2000 allowing more time for UKIP.

Joined UKIP in 1996. Roles in UKIP include:
Chairman of Torbay branch; Devon chairman; Chairman of South West Counties Committee; NEC member since 1997; Deputy leader to Jeffrey Titford; Vice chairman under Roger Knapman; Now MEP for South West.

My thoughts as a new MEP:

During my first visit to Strasbourg in December, my worst fears were confirmed. The opulence, extravagance and arrogance were even worse than I expected. I saw: Vast, circular chambers, with hordes of interpreters, even for small group meetings; A totally undemocratic voting system, where everything has clearly been decided in advance; Penguin-suited security officers who suck up to the MEPs and who treat non-members with disdain, giving MEPs a feeling of great self-importance (if you fall for it); Chauffeur driven limos available free to MEPs; Phones in every office used for unlimited calls worldwide - no-one ever sees a phone bill; An expenses office where boarding cards are worth £700 even if they only cost £40; Metal trunks being filled with office files etc ready for transportation back to Brussels at the end of the plenary session in Strasbourg. What a waste of energy and money, having duplicated Parliamentary buildings 300 miles apart! The list goes on and on.........

Hobbies over the years:
Motor rallying; Squash; Golf; Travelling (once completed a round-the-world trip of 30,000 miles in 30 days!); Poetry; Painting; Astronomy and Coin collecting (I have one penny from EVERY King and Queen of England from Aethelwulf (839-858) to date).

And in my spare time..................

Graham Booth.
