UKIP is committed to boosting British Tourism, and creating jobs for young people, said Richard Ford UKIP Gloucester candidate yesterday (4th May).
Said Richard: “..I can bring my 30 years of experience in tourism, both in the UK and worldwide, to work hard as your [Gloucester] MP to make our city a fantastic tourism hub for the South West and beyond.”
With a vision of growing the economy and increasing jobs, Richard spoke specifically on Gloucester, a city heaped in history. “We have world class assets like our cathedral, the Quays, a great European rugby club and the coming Tall Ships event.”
Outling how it would be done, he said “with the city’s regeneration, great motorway access, and urgently needed improved rail links, we can use these elements as a springboard to really put Gloucester on the map.” And in addition Richard confirmed he is willing to work with existing Toursim professionals in the city and encourage young local people into to the industry.
Said Richard, “Jobs in tourism give our young people especially a foothold in the world of work. That is an exciting prize that I believe is well worth fighting for.”
